Lector

a lay person trained in reading scripture who is requested to read the lessons. There is no license required for this lay ministry.

Ecumenical Minister

a lay person licensed by the bishop to administer the consecrated elements of the eucharist. Usually, they share the eucharist with the ill or infirm.

Acolyte

a general term which covers not only servers, torch bearers, lighters of candles, but also crucifers, thurifers and banner-bearers

MINISTRIES

Leader of the Prayers of the People

have a long and venerable history and are a part of the Daily Office and eucharistic liturgy. They are lead by a Lector or lay person trained in reading scripture but does not have to be licensed for this lay ministry. 

Stewardship and Giving

Stewardship refers to more than just contributing money to the church. We all have a responsibility in maintain and using wisely the gifts that God has given us. However, stewardship is about finding the “best” use of those gifts by sharing your time, talents and resources with your church and community.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild has the privilege of preparing the altar for any service held in the church, & assisting the priest whenever necessary. The members are also responsible for maintaining sacred vestments, securing the necessary articles used at any service, caring for the sacred vessels & attending to any housekeeping of the church.
